The Archetypal Influence of the Month
The Magician symbolizes, the beginning, the new. It’s the initiation, into a new perception, a new dimension, which is what the new year promises, in the first month of the year. It is always about hopes, vision, and dreams; and a certain revolution of ourselves, as we make our way back like the earth, to the beginning of the cycle, change brewing from within us. It’s a reimagination of ourselves – and yet there is a bit of dispersion because of distractions such as vacation and family. There are old threads still unraveling from the previous year, and it’s difficult to gain focus, and so the intention of this month is to remain disciplined in your focus.
But it isn’t the focus on the achievement of goals, it’s a focus upon joy, and surrendering of goals, so that your true vision can come through. Because the new year actually starts later in month (in terms of energetic mechanics), and so the Magician is asking you to deeper into your joy, into what makes you feel alive, and vital, and to examine that as a place of intention and exploration.
It’s a month to be social, there is a bit of showmanship and an aspect of wheeling and dealing, and there are opportunities awaiting those who socialize, and those who are open to new things, perhaps through business, friends, and family networks. As long as it’s through socializing in joy; for instance, at a dinner or other unique experience.
There is an aspect of the Magician, which is also connected to creativity and being creative, and that is where exploring yourself in a different way, in an avenue you haven’t explored previously, will assist you in gaining opportunities. It’s an energy that is around for all of us.
On a negative aspect, there can be a lot of superficial interactions and goal setting, and overall superficial feeling about this month. Yet if you are tuned into your joy, you can tap into authentic magical experiences; whereas, if you are too dispersed and social, you can fall into your vanity and shallow perceptions and behaviors, and this is where insecurities can arise. This is especially true, when we fail with our initial and often unintentional or unrealistic goals, which set us up for disappointment when we feel like we aren’t accomplishing what we set ourselves to. This can affect our state of being, shifting us to experience a lacking of vitality, or depressive wave, but that is where creativity comes in. Being creative, ignites that inner fire and gives us that passion and that joy to be focused, and be able to share that with others; which becomes productive, and helps us in creating more profound and magical experiences and connections.
It is a real month of magic, new beginnings, new meetings, interactions, all with a certain sense of whimsical, beginner’s luck, that is with us in launching new things. It can be massively enterprising, especially if it is refined, or if it is helping us to refine ourselves, our family, our cultures.
This month, all things related to our expansion, self progression, and education are helpful to align us. Signing up to courses, and planning adventures for the new year, is all very positive.
In a way, to conclude, the Magician is asking us to wield our energy and focus it on what makes us joyful. So we can cast our spell and make potent magic, by manifesting.
